“Random” was in abundance that day,
When I met a friend with my friend.
“Simple” boasted about being Outstanding,
And modest jollity refused to leave us.
“Plans” formed a disciplined queue,
Lashing a tight double knot around.
Varying spirits exposed themselves,
Bullying the vile side to surface.
“Proximity” took it as an excuse to breed,
Widening the horizon of the confines.
..............................................
Now, the tenable hold of her hand over mine,
Will slacken a pair of “double locked handcuffs.”
The fanaticism of her touch, hugs and kisses,
Will confound the devotion of advanced lovers.
The faithful “I love you” ogle from her eyes,
Will subtly unclothe the arduous conscience.
The gazing at her innocent “fast asleep face,”
Will put them thoughts to rest and send a sigh to the lips.
Written for and Dedicated to Roshni Khanchandani. :)

Golden Greed
The wait to our intimacy was perpetual. I saw you sitting there, waiting, with a skimpy touch of nervousness. You wanted to give in and yet be where you were. Well, the moment was here! I enticed you; so close that I could imagine your non-existent heartbeat.
Slower than a snail, I unveiled you, seeking for justice to be done to every inch of your beautiful golden skin. Then in your stark nakedness, I realized the best selfish thought – “you are all mine, right now!!”
Actuality or a manifestation of my depraved mind, I “felt” you again to trust. Part by part, I savored you, ensuring every bit got doused in my saliva. Your presence in me, created a whirlpool out of my earthly spirit, making me drift in to a fourth dimension of the surroundings.
When I provoked my eyes to open again, you had to be gone, and you were… Quite sinfully, the mouth widened in those familiar opposite directions. Then, I was hurled back in my body, only waiting for the next time you would be in my hands again.

Half a Decade Ago
Half a decade ago,
A feeling like this was felt!
It yet again started as fun,
Alas! the sneak peaks rose.
Little bit of stalking,
Minimal words of talking,
and she's already a lover girl.
Half a decade ago,
A feeling like this was felt!
The nerves of the stomach wriggled,
Some pink always bursted in to cheeks.
Few random assumptions here,
Tiny pieces of hope there,
A big chunk sinking in 'worry,'
Counting all the freaks of past.
Half a decade ago,
A feeling like this was felt!
Emotions had overwhelmed her heart,
Life had complained about unnecessary wastage.
From then to now, she waits,
At the square one of those 'red tiles,'
Except eagerness made one leg rise,
And the wait on a single leg suffers.
Half a decade ago,
A feeling like this was felt!
That feeling, which was missed.
That feeling, which was dreaded.
And now, the palms are just open.
A feeling like this was felt!
It yet again started as fun,
Alas! the sneak peaks rose.

And She Turned For A Bit...
She sat there wanting to bite her nails. Alas! Once in a while they are grown and biting them would almost be like a sin. Also, she kept clicking the different tabs on her internet browser. So, that is the new way of seeking inspiration now.
Ting! And then the chat window notified a new message. Phew! Saved by the Ting!
Some random day, you just look back and yearn to be what you were. That version may not necessarily be the best version but you still want to be that or at least a certain part of it. I miss that ability to make a blog post out of any random or special event of my life. It's like you are craving to write but even something inspirational or blog worthy is unable to form words in your head. You know, the automatic flow of words that just spring up out of nowhere and then you improvise on those? Maybe that's how beggars feel (at least the genuine ones). They really want to eat but they can't for various and obvious reasons of course!
But then you are so desperate to write that you do and feel guilty about spamming your own blog and uselessly increasing the number of posts on it. There is anger and tears. There are nails digging in to your palm. There is this insane amount of emotions that you need to throw out (like puke). But every next sentence you form is like "doing ten suicides in a row, during a basketball workout (body not in form)." Then there is time constraint because you have a morning shift at work the next day.
Lastly, there is a lot of suffocation! It is not cool man! It is so not cool!
But you have to end the post because nonsense generally, has no end and there is only so much spamming that I would like to do to my blog.

At Least She Still Attempts
I re-checked the dates and noticed that it has been more than a year since I posted something. I was definitely excited about posting the last one because I finally broke the elapsed time period of 'no-posts.'
Well, I am at a standstill. There are so many careers to choose from, so many companies to get employed at, so much money to make and yet I am a tiny little dot on a page full of doodle done by some mystery force!
It is high time (at least I think so) that I pick a career, work towards it, and be something more in it, in about 3 years down the line. However, I can't! Most days it feels like it will come to me and Thwack! I will know what I want to do for the rest of my life. Except, all those options just appear like a whirlpool. Also, taking the first step, having a platform to take the first step, feeling a 100% about being good at it, and being able to prove that to the rest, is mind you, a task! At least in this part of the world. Sometimes, I think what if it thwacks me when I am like some 36 years old and realize that all these years I was wasting my time!!?? Yeah yeah, don't give me the "you are never too old to start" jazz.
Yet again, sometimes, it feels like there is no such thing as "Thwack" in life. Maybe it's just about picking opportunities that come in your way and moving your way up. Cutting down the talks and analysis. But then what is the whole drama about Passion in life? Sigh!
So, how good is it being a Jack of all, again?
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
She wishes to speak,
but the mind is being a freak.
One second it screams happy,
The next it whispers crappy.
How does she heal?
If she can't fathom the feel.
Digging is causing her pain,
Attempts to solve feel in vain.
So what does she do?
She waits with a long breath,
Letting those thoughts form queue.
She shuts the mental door,
It's OK. Life is sometimes a whore!
I randomly wrote that for a friend but now I think it kind of applies to me also, if of course, we change the context of the poem!

Seeking Some Inspiration
I saw them in the distance,
flickering like uncountable number of candles.
Only they wouldnt go out.
They almost formed the horizon.
And as that pattern kept forming and coming closer,
they changed into their true form, them street lights.

I Found Some Meaning!
This week has been the shit!
Okay, so I am out of practice to write long posts, giving details of everything that happened but I shall try.
Sunday was super tiring since a friend and I were up the whole of morning (post midnight, Saturday). It was filled with planning for another friend whose star birthday fell on Thursday. Evening was filled with shopping for the same.
Wednesday started around noon where I had to take my sister to pick up lunch coupons for a lunch treat which happened today (Friday), followed by dropping her back, leaving to shop for one more thing for friend, and driving to Sharjah. Upon arrival, Lohri was celebrated, yummy Pav Bhaji was eaten and gift wrapping session was started. Lastly, a treasure hunt was planned since there were 21 gifts to celebrate the 21st birthday :).
Thursday started early at around 8:30 a.m. since the birthday friend was supposed to be kept out of her house. Day out with friend included; driving to Media City, our much loved beach, Dubai Mall, Lamcy Plaza to meet another friend, Karama to pick up another friend, driving back to the birthday friend's house in Sharjah, causing delay with miserable pretension of falling ill, and finally reaching friend's house.
A superb party happened after that - surprise, cake-cutting, treasure hunt, and yummy food and cake eating. All this, in quite a chaotic form.
Post party was slow and entertaining with lot of talking and discussion about all kinds of lies told, drinking, having children, etc.
Then, I died in a happy exhaustion! It has been a while since such content sleep visited me.
Friday started early too with the Karama friend, driving back to Dubai. Driving on Sharjah roads with no traffic is not so bad :P. We reached home to pick up my sister and go for the lunch treat at Food World. Sister's friends were quite late except two. However, that kind of helped to create an appetite for the lunch buffet. Again, decent food was enjoyed. Towards the end, this yummy cake, baked by sis' friend's mum closed the afternoon. Once again, I slept nicely at an odd time though.
Much appreciated highlights; extra cute and super happy friend and proud and happy sister.

Duvidha!
That by the way, means trouble.
I realized, not today though, that random happiness does not last for too long. Yeah, so I decided to mention it today. Well, the deal is that there is too much negativity around and the big daddy of the same negativity is actually one's own mind, at least for me.
The problem is that this random happiness is very fragile because obviously, it is based on nothing. Hence, it is easy for any negative shit to shake it. However, it can also be the fact that, one maybe excessively bored of being frustrated, depressed, etc. and therefore, decides to push all the junk away. That is not so as to say that one is running away from problems but just trying to be normal while they still can't be dealt with. But, as mentioned earlier, this ruminative and acquired euphoria is very weak and practically any random external stimulus, beating the randomness of the above, can act as a cue.
Now, all of that, makes me arrive at a different tangent but related to the above. It somehow, makes me think of this concept that we were taught in Industrial Psychology. I forgot the details of course, but the point was that if one does not dislike something does not necessarily mean that he/she likes it and vice versa. There is this neutral spot in between. How about I attribute the neutral spot to my random mood and the two extremes, dislike and like to negative emotions and positive emotions respectively. Thus,(coming back to the tangent in concern) my problem is that, I know the exact five Ws and a H of my bad and controversial situations but I still can't help the negativity sometimes. I mean it's like this bird's view covering almost the whole area of 'something not right' but the bird is, metaphorically of course, blind! Actually more like helpless!
And that just makes it worse because I still give myself pep talks, discuss my problems with family and friends, and brood over the situation in question.
Right, so I just feel like a hypocrite now. That and very confused of course.
On that note, Goodnight!

Happy New Year
The fanatical grey is conversing. Aggressive and Intimidating. The pawns are setting the mood for back-up.
The scene was almost perfect in the afternoon and it called for chai and pakodas. However, even if all these resources were available in the afternoon, the fact that this is Dubai would have ruined it. Somehow, the place doesn't go with the rain, chai, and the pakodas. So just like the scene called, the chai and the pakodas called Bombay or Bangalore or any one of those small random places visited recently. Anyway, the almost perfect scene was still more than welcome because like all normal human beings, during the time of recession, something is better than nothing.
On a smaller and more random note, the feeling of writing on the first day of the year 2010 feels good. Also, when I was much younger I was informed about this particular deal; whatever you do on new years is what you will be doing throughout the rest of that year. In that case, my list is the following:
- Receiving payment (Rich Bitch :D)
- Randomly happy mood
- Eating Chicken Tikkas
- Drinking and handling myself decently (I am sure we can have exceptions)
- Being surrounded with love from all the people who mean the world to me.
So, I shall also dedicate this post to them people who mean the world.
Happy New Year! :)

Random Check
I had my first random police check today. It happened in Al Quoz when my sister and me were driving to Dubai Driving Center. It felt quite unusual to get stopped by a cop. They don't usually stop girls.
Anyway, he asked for my license and car registration. I had both that too absolutely valid. However, I had this uneasy feeling for a second. Also, I couldn't help thinking about all the times when I drove without a license and expired car registration. Phew!
Moral of the story: Always carry valid car proofs while driving. Especially in Al Quoz :P

Petty Joys of Life
After two whole days of sitting at home and hoping to work out a fun plan with friends, I went out alone today.
The deal was to go catch the sunset at the private beach in Jumeirah 2. At 5:17 p.m. I started my car to go to the beach. It almost felt like a race because Dubai traffic picks up after 5 p.m. and since, winter is soon approaching, the sun sets around 5:30 p.m. With each meter that my car covered, the sun moved an inch downwards. There were quite a few hard brakes. I felt restless and my hand smelt of onion which I had chopped for dinner last night. I couldn't help looking through the gaps of the various buildings to ensure that the sun is still there. It almost felt like a game of hide and seek (I miss playing it).

At 5:42 p.m. I stopped my car at the spot where I usually park. Old days with friends drowned me. Technically, I was dry but I felt drenched. As I switched off the engine and opened the door, this amazingly nice-feeling wind welcomed me. There was nothing exceptional about this gust of wind except its timing to thwack me. It felt like a close friend's hug. Legs out, I looked longingly at the sky but alas! the big ball of orange had gone to sleep (quite a few have or I have put them to). A freaky pathan driving a Mitsubishi pick-up waved at me as he left (Chotu Tsunami memories, peace disruption). Anyway, what was left was faded light orange sitting on top of a grey sheet. Although, the ambiance was still bright.

I locked the car and started walking away from the direction of the already set sun. I felt like this cool kid - no balance on mobile, massive DJ headphones, basketball jersey, comfortable 3/4ths, oshos and a lot of dreams yet to be fulfilled while I walked away to nowhere. Suddenly, everything had just slowed down contrary to the school and college life that whooshed away so quickly. The orange kept fading and black started taking over the gray.

As I retreated my path to the car, I stood before the latter for a bit, admiring. This subtle smile came to my lips. I unlocked the car and dusted my oshos outside.

It was 6:22 p.m. when I started my car and left.

You Can Smile Now

The vines left their support,
The silhouette was ignored.
They crept their way towards her,
The loner beam was a different story.
The black coils engulfed her,
The support watched in awe.
They hissed calmly, “We know you love it,”
Pause. Again, “You can smile now.”
So she did. Just for an eternity.

Coldplay - Talk

I've been trying hard to reach you, cause I don't know what to do
Oh brother I can't believe it's true
I'm so scared about the future and I wanna talk to you
Oh I wanna talk to you
You can take a picture of something you see
In the future where will I be?
You can climb a ladder up to the sun
Or write a song nobody has sung
Or do something that's never been done
Are you lost or incomplete?
Do you feel like a puzzle, you can't find your missing piece?
Tell me how do you feel?
Well I feel like they're talking in a language I don't speak
And they're talking it to me
So you take a picture of something you see
In the future where will I be?
You can climb a ladder up to the sun
Or a write a song nobody has sung
Or do something that's never been done
Do something that's never been done
So you don't know were you're going, and you wanna talk
And you feel like you're going where you've been before
You tell anyone who'll listen but you feel ignored
Nothing's really making any sense at all
Let's talk, let's ta-a-alk
Let's talk, let's ta-a-alk

Pool of Thoughts
...and I don't know how to swim! (even otherwise).
Last night, I went clubbing to Keva. Just like the previous Thursday, I was super bored and on my last nerve. The issue isn't the club itself but the company. This of course, made me recall how randomly my friend and I started clubbing in Bangalore. Yes, one of the best company that I have found for clubbing so far. Miss you woman! Again, yes, a woman! :)
Anyway, due to my boredom, I ended up sitting in the lobby of Keva. Here, I mainly noticed two things:
1. People who were dancing inside sounded like beggars when their voices were heard in chorus while singing ( thats when the DJ mutes the audio so that people can scream out the song). The worse part is that I am one of them when I am not pissed and dancing. :P
2. People who enter and exit the club dancing or rather moving in the most peculiar manner. Some of them are drunk and can't help it and the others are too cool to avoid doing it. Again, I am sometimes one of them (reason being the former).
Maybe, I should restrain my mind to concentrate only on the music next time. Also, last night seemed like the 'fight night.' Quite a few of the rowdy crowd got in to arguements and got kicked out of the club. I got elbowed by one of them who was being pushed by the bouncer and being asked to leave.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
"I think you are a psycho to base your decisions on your fear" she said.
I have heard this before, I even know it myself and as it crosses my thoughts again with time, my anger sees no limit. Period.
And that's the bitch.
(Never thought I would ever end up hating Dubai).

Top Ten Venomous Creatures
1. Box Jellyfish

The top prize for “The World's Most Venomous Creature,” would go to the Box Jellyfish. It has caused at least five thousand five hundred and sixty seven recorded deaths since 1954. Its venom is among the most deadly in the world. Its toxins attack the heart, nervous system, and skin cells. And the worst part of it is that jelly box venom is so overpoweringly painful, that human victims go in to shock, drown or die of heart failure before even reaching shore. Survivors experience pain weeks after the contact with box jellies.
One has virtually no chance to survive the venomous sting, unless treated immediately. When stung, vinegar should be applied for a minimum of 30 seconds. Vinegar has acetic acid, which disables the box jelly’s nematocysts that have not yet been discharged into the bloodstream (though it will not alleviate the pain). Wearing panty hose while swimming is also a good prevention measure since it can prevent jellies from being able to harm one's leg. Box Hellyfish can be found in the waters around Asia and Australia.
2. King Cobra

King Cobra (Ophiophagus Hannah) is the world’s longest venomous snake - growing up to 5.6 m (18.5 ft) in length. Ophiophagus, literally means “snake-eater” as it eats other snakes. One single bite of this deadly snake can easily kill a human. It is even capable of killing a full-grown Asian Elephant within 3 hours, if the larger animal is bitten in a vulnerable area such as the trunk.
Its venom is not as toxic as other venomous snakes, but King Cobra is capable of injecting 5 times more venom than Black Mamba and can result in mortality up to 5 times faster than that of the Black Mamba. It is quite widespread, ranging across South and South-east Asia, living in dense highland forests.
3. Marbled Cone Snail

This little beautiful looking Snail can be as deadly as any other animal on this list. One drop of its venom is so powerful that it can kill more than 20 humans. If one ever happens to be in a warm salt water environment (where these snails are often found), they should avoid picking it up if they spot one.
Symptoms of a Marbled Cone Snail sting can start immediately or can be delayed in onset for days. It results in intense pain, swelling, numbness and tingling. Severe cases involve muscle paralysis, vision changes and breathing failure. There is no anti venom. However, only about 30 human deaths have been recorded from Cone Snail envenoming.
4. Blue-Ringed Octopus

The Blue-Ringed Octopus is very small, only the size of a golf ball, but its venom is very powerful. It carries enough poison to kill 26 adult humans within minutes, and there is no antidote. It is currently recognized as one of the world’s most venomous animals.
Its painless bite may seem harmless, but the deadly neurotoxins begin working immediately resulting in muscular weakness, numbness, followed by a cessation in breathing and ultimately death. It can be found in tide pools of the Pacific Ocean, from Japan to Australia.
5. Death Stalker Scorpion

Death Starker Scorpion contradicts the popular belief that 'most scorpions are relatively harmless to humans since their stings produce local effects only (pain, numbness or swelling).' However, the Death Starker Scorpion is highly dangerous species because its venom is a powerful cocktail of neurotoxins which cause an intense and unbearable pain, resulting in fever, followed by coma, convulsions, paralysis and death. Fortunately, while a sting from this scorpion is extremely painful, it would be unlikely to kill a healthy, adult human. Young children, the old, or infirm (with a heart condition) are at the biggest risk. Death stalker scorpions are found in North Africa and Middle East.
6. Stonefish

Not the best looking fish but again, the venom does the trick. It causes such a severe pain that the stung victims would want the affected limb to be amputated. It is described as the worst pain known to man. It is accompanied by possible shock, paralysis, and tissue death. If not given medical attention within a couple of hours.
Stonefish stores its toxins in gruesome-looking spines that are designed to hurt would-be predators. It mostly lives above the tropic of Capricorn, often found in the shallow tropical marine waters of the Pacific and Indian oceans, ranging from the Red Sea to the Queensland Great Barrier Reef.
7. The Brazilian Wandering Spider

The Brazilian Wandering Spider (Phoneutria) or Banana Spider appears in the Guinness Book of World Records 2007 for the most venomous spider and is responsible for most human deaths.
It is believed to have the most potent neurotoxic venom of any living spider. Only 0.006mg (0.00000021oz) is sufficient to kill a mouse. It is also very dangerous because of its wandering nature. It often hides during daytime in highly populated areas like houses, clothes, boots, and cars.
Its venomous bite not only causes intense pain, the venom of the spider can also cause priapism - uncomfortable erections lasting for many hours that lead to impotence.
8. Inland Taipan

The Inland Taipan comes from Australia. Just a single bite from this snake contains enough venom to kill 100 human adults or an army of 250,000 mice. Its venom is at least 200 - 400 times more toxic than a common cobra. Its extremely neurotoxic venom can kill an adult human in as little as 45 minutes. Fortunately, this snake is very shy and there have been no documented human fatalities (all known bites were treated with antivenin).
9. Poison Dart Frog

If one ever happens to be running through the rain forests somewhere in Central or South America, they should never ever pick up beautiful and colorful frogs - it can be the Poison Dart Frog. The 2 inch long (5cm) golden Poison Dart Frog has enough venom to kill 10 adult humans or 20,000 mice. Only 2 micrograms of this lethal toxin (the amount that fits on the head of a pin) is capable of killing a human or other large mammal. It is called “Dart Frog” because of the indigenous use of their toxic secretions to poison the tips of their blow-darts. Poison dart frogs keep their poison in their skins and sicken or kill anybody who touches or eats them.
10. Puffer Fish

Puffer Fishes are the second most poisonous vertebrates on the earth (the first one is Golden Dart Frog). The meat of some species is a delicacy in both Japan (as fugu) and Korea (as bok-uh) but the problem is that, the skin and certain organs of many puffer fishes are very poisonous to humans.
This fish produces rapid and violent death. Puffer fish's poisoning causes deadening of the tongue and lips, dizziness, vomiting, rapid heart rate, difficulty in breathing, and muscle paralysis. Victims die from suffocation as diaphragm muscles are paralyzed. Most of the victims die after four to twenty four hours. There is no known antidote. Most deaths from fugu happen when untrained people catch and prepare the fish. Statistics show that there were twenty to forty four incidents of fugu poisoning per year between 1996 and 2006 in all of Japan and up to six incidents per year led to death. Since Fugu’s poison can cause near instantaneous death, only licensed chefs are allowed to prepare it.

Toyota "Corona" - Vintage Ride
Yes it's not "Corolla" but "Corona!" I say this because I just recalled that one of my friends actually thought that I didn't know my own car name and I was saying Corona for Corolla.
The car has been in the family since 1990. So, currently, it is the 19th year that we use this car. I am talking about it because off late, I am the one who drives it the most and hence, I feel for my car. I think I realized its importance only after the miserable sufferings I faced (Car got impounded for 15 days and I live a little away from civilization).
Today, I noticed that I feel quite bad when people say stuff about my car. Yeah, so I know it is very old and quite ruined but it still runs decently enough and all the important parts of the car work just fine. Most of all, it's anyday better than walking on the road under the Hot Dubai Sun, paying insane amounts of cash to various cab drivers (even better if they are hitting on you!) and wasting generous amount of time by travelling in public buses. I would also like to mention pathan cabs and sharing cabs which have their own issues. But it's so convinient to make fun of my vehicle while it's giving you the ride.
I think I have given this 'exclusive right' to only a few important friends. However, the rest also seem to be my guests.
Well, I know that they are joking at the end of the day but I am still not okay with 'the guests.'

No Parking Zone!
Today, was the second day when I wasted more than an hour's time of my already wasted life (well, currently) in Bur Dubai looking for parking. Ok, so the last time it was some 45 minutes. There is absolutely no bloody parking!!
Hence, I am more than happy to conclude that Bur Dubai is the "Bhed Bakri Land."
On other news, I am wishing my frd a Happy Birthday.
*goes to look for some inspiration for the next post*
